We are licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families as a Child Placing agency for our foster care and adoption program and as a Child Caring Agency for our Emergency Shelter and Group Home Programs. Re-licensure, file audit and site inspections occurs annually. Unscheduled surprise site visits can take place at any time at the discretion of DCF.

We value our partnership with ChildNet, the lead agency for Community Based Care in Broward County. Children are referred to our Emergency Shelter, Group Home and Foster Home Programs for placement and support.

The JAFCO ICE (Intensive Child Enrichment) program is partially funded by the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and offers half-day, full-day, and overnight activities for children with developmental disabilities. The program focuses on a variety of social, life and communication skills such as greeting, turn taking, sustaining interactions, expression of emotions, social interaction, independent functioning, and a variety of skill based tasks.

We are a proud beneficiary of the Jewish Federation of Broward County who supports our Kosher food program for children residing at the JAFCO Jewish Children’s Village, the only village of its kind in the Jewish community in the country.

Through the generous funding of the Children’s Services Council, we are proud to offer our empirically based Multi Systemic Therapy Program to families raising a teenager who is demonstrating at-risk behaviors such as aggression, truancy and drug experimentation with the goal of keeping the child at home with his or her family.

We are proud to partner with Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, the lead agency for Community Based Care in Miami Dade County and we accept placement of children in our foster care, emergency shelter and group home programs from Miami-Dade County.

We are a proud beneficiary of United Way funds through businesses in our community whose employees designate their United Way gift to JAFCO and also through employer match programs.
